Renaming Your IG Account

Tips for renaming your IG account!

When I decided to rename my account from @ccwriter_ to @chcarterwrites , I learned photo tags would carry over, but not mentions in captions/comments.

Here's how I fixed that!

After updating your username:

• Your old username will 'lock' for 14 days.
• At the end of the 14 day window:

          - Open a new account.

          - Claim your old username as a backup.

          - Include you new username in the bio of the backup account.

Now all previous mentions and tags will be routed to your renamed account!
