International Hobbit Day Giveaway (2021)

 Did you know today is International Hobbit Day?

September 22 is designated as Hobbit Day because it is the birthdate of two of JRR Tolkien's main characters - Bilbo Baggins and Frodo Baggins. Hobbit Day and Tolkien Week first began in 1978 by the proclamation of the American Tolkien Society, an organization whose goal is to further the study and spread the appreciation of the works of JRR Tolkien and his son, Christopher JR Tolkien. To celebrate,  I've put together a very special giveaway! 

The winner of this drawing will receive a paperback copy of JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit, some tea time items of their choice, and one of the collectable goblets sold by Burger King when the Fellowship of the Rings movie came out in 2001!

I guess I'm dating myself a little here, but there was a time when fast food chains would collaborate with big movie releases to sell collectable merchandise. I vividly remember going to get one of the LOTR goblets with my friends the day after seeing the first movie. It was stored away in the box and never used (the box does have some natural age wear). When I discovered I still had the glass, I decided to give it to a Tolkien fan who would enjoy having it!
