So after years of working with editors and agents, I've found a few things that help me process their feedback on my manuscript. 6 Things To Consider: Attention, Spirit, Criticism/Encouragement, Solutions, Forest/Trees, Author.



When your agent or your editor gives you feedback, here are things to consider.
#1: Do you have their attention?
#2: Do they get the spirit of your work?
#3: Is there more criticism and some encouragement in the feedback?
#4: Does the feedback include solutions?
#5: Does the feedback include the forest and the trees?
#6: Is the feedback helping you be a better writer?
